The smartphone and the modern child
Today, we live in an era where it is unimaginable to imagine a world without technology. While our childhoods were filled with kites, cricket, and running around the yard, today's children's world often seems to be limited to a few inches of a 'smart screen'.
The educational benefits of using a smartphone include helping children research subjects, learn new languages, and watch creative videos.
The health problems that arise from it include poor eyesight, back pain, and obesity due to prolonged screen time.
Social distancing is another weakness. Instead of chatting with family, children become addicted to their phones, which reduces their ability to communicate and express their feelings.
It is not practical to completely remove technology from children these days. But we can control it.
Time management, which means setting aside a specific time each day for phone use. Also, being attentive to what the child watches and reads.
Encouraging the child to read books, garden, or play outside.
Being a role model, which means parents and adults should avoid using their phones in front of the child. Because children learn by watching what we do, not what we say.
