 The day my dream came true - the first award I received for my performance in 'Rocket', The Cygnis Award!

There are some days that you remember for a lifetime. Today, I am sharing with you one such unforgettable, triumphant memory from my artistic career.

Rocket' was the first feature-length film in Sri Lanka to be made by a group of school students. When the script was finished, my teacher and all my friends said, 'You should play the lead role in this.

It was a big challenge. It wasn't easy to bring a character I had written to life. But I gladly accepted the challenge. It was my first acting experience, and it was a truly special feeling to be able to contribute to my own creation as a lead actor.

Our collective dedication was not in vain. I received the award for 'Best Creative Performance' at the Signis Telecine Awards. The joy I felt when I went on stage and received that award is beyond words.


I received this award not only for my performance, but for the dream we all had together. This honor should go to my missus and the entire 'Rocket' team who helped me.

Dream... Chase those dreams. One day those dreams will come true. Let's meet again with another beautiful memory like this.
