My memory wall - Battle Of Gold - School Big Match Day

A Historic victory - Sivali Central College Triumphs in the Big Match 2026!


   That special day we celebrate every year has arrived. Even though we say goodbye to the school uniform, the love for the school colors never diminishes. Today, the entire city is decorated with our school flags.

This is more of a celebration of brotherhood than a competition. It's a wonderful feeling to see friends meeting after years and sharing the same plate of rice.

After a long wait of four years, the streets of Ratnapura were filled with colors and cheers once again for the "Big Match" between Sivali Central College and Gankanda Central College. Held on the 3rd and 4th of April 2026, 

Day 1- Sivali Takes Control

The Gankanda Central College players, who batted first in the match, had little success against the Sivali bowlers. The Sivali bowlers managed to restrict all their wickets to 44 runs.

Then, starting their first innings, Sivali players batted patiently and skillfully and reached a strong position, scoring 167 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Accordingly, Sivali College was able to easily secure the first innings victory.

Day 2 -  The Magnificent Win

On the second day, Sivali decided to put the pressure back on Gankanda. The Gankanda batters tried to fight back, but Sivali’s bowlers were unstoppable. They bowled out the opposition for 74 runs in the second innings.

With this dominant performance, Sivali Central College won the match by an innings and 49 runs!

A Moment to Remember

It was an incredible sight to see the alumni, students, and teachers celebrating this historic win together. After four years, the shield finally returns home to Seevali Central.

Congratulations to the captain, the team, and the coaching staff for this "Innings Win." We are proud of our lions!
