The Journey of "Rocket": Overcoming Drugs through Technology

My main goal was to send a message to society about staying away from drugs and succeeding in life by using modern technology correctly. This inspired me to write my first film script, "Rocket".

This project was special for several reasons:

* A Historical Effort: It was the first long-feature film in Sri Lanka created entirely by a group of school students.

* Teamwork: With the guidance of my teacher and school friends, I worked hard for two months to complete this project.

* National Awards: Our hard work paid off when the film won the Sarasavi and Signis awards, which are among the highest honors in Sri Lankan cinema.

Seeing a script I wrote receive such national recognition is still an unbelievable and joyful experience for me.

Writing a screenplay is not just about telling a story; it is a journey that is both incredibly fun and deeply challenging, especially for the first time.

The most special thing here is giving life to the characters and creating their own unique traits. It is an art to write the dialogues that the characters speak to each other in a way that is close to real life and makes the audience feel it.

Also, planning how the story flows and how it connects from one scene to the next is like solving a puzzle.

Even though we have to pay a lot of attention to character development and story flow, it's a great joy to see what's in our minds written down on paper. This is what makes my passion for creating stories even stronger, no matter how challenging it is.

Currently, I have received an invitation to write a new film script, and I am working on it with great happiness and passion.
